You need to have a Mac to do this one…
When I saw the iMac G5 Keynote at which Steve Jobs demoed the new Frontrow and Photo Booth apps, I thought…nice, when can I get ‘em. Turns out I have to buy an iMac G5 to get them, because Apple isn’t going to be giving them away to it’s existing users (not just yet anyway…) – No way, I’m sticking to my G4 PowerBook. However, if you have an iSight camera & iChat, here’s a consolation prize. I don’t know when this feature was implemented but earlier on today I when into iChat and Software Update informed me that an update was available. Downloaded it, installed it and used it. Now here’s for the magic. If in the buddy list you click on your picture (top right corner), a menu will appear with a choice of pictures and at the bottom you’ll get an ‘Edit Picture’ option. Click on it. That’ll open a buddy picture window. Now just click on ‘Take Video Snaphot’ and 3, 2, 1 there the magic. Your screen will go white for a fraction of a second (that’s the pseudo flash going on). Unfortunately that’s all you can do with it – none of those cool deformations Steve showed off!
